Yoga heals the mind, body and soul. Yoga actually saved my life in 2014 when I decided to sign up for Yoga Teacher training. I started practicing yoga when I was 15 but didn't truly get into my practice until I was almost twenty. The studio became my safe space to go when I was going through the roller coaster of life. My teachers became my greatest mentors who guided me and supported me in more ways they will ever know. Yoga to me is not just movement but a way of living life. Yoga teaches you to be still and quiet the hectic mind. To listen to your body and flow through life with grace and ease. I would not be who I am or where I am if I did not dive deeper into this practice. 

Meditation is something I also got into when I started my yoga practice. During my training I spoiled to meet the most incredible woman named Anandra George who came from India to lead us through a weekend of sound and mantra. She gave me my first pair of turqouise mala beeds and I was excited to learn what to do with them. She then gave me a phrase to repeat with my beeds 108 times for fourty days. The saying I will never forget still to this day many years later aha. "Om gum Ganapatayel namah" which means "salutations to the remover of obstacles." I did what she told me and oh boy was that difficult. I found that this challenge taught me to find time for the things that are important to me. You will hear the saying, "I'm too busy" or "I don't have time" but there is always time for the things that are important to you. Some days I would repeat it really fast or sometimes while driving hehe but I made it through those fourty days. At the end of the fourty days I felt rejunivated and accomplished that I had accomplished this new task. This was the start of a new life long love story where I fell in love with meditating. 

Meditation is great for all people no matter how old or young you are. This is something that you can do everyday for your entire life. I've found that it is especially amazing to find time to meditate on the most chaotic loud days where it's difficult to find a quiet space. I receive many messages in my meditations for what I'm supposed to do on earth. Meditation helps me to quiet my mind so I can listen to what my next steps are or I receive messages to share with others and the world.
