What is Self-Love?

Self-Love is not something you can buy or find somewhere. This is not something you are born with either.

Self-Love is something that you create yourself from within.

Self-Love is a journey you will be on for the rest of your life and it's not something that will be beautiful everyday. The journey is messy but it's always worth it. This means you know when to listen to your body and to say no to things that are not good for your soul. You take care of yourself and know this is not selfish. If you don't take care of yourself than how can you love or take care of others. The last two months I stopped wearing make-up because after a long journey of learning self love I wanted to prove to myself and be a role model for all woman that you are beautiful jus the way you are. You don't need to put something on your face to prove yourself to society. Not saying I won't wear make up ever again but I am finally comfortable in my own skin.

Journaling intentions for my day or week has helped me stay on track. I have constant mini dance parties to brighten my sprit. I have let go of the toxic people in my life and only allow souls with good intentions and positive vibes to be in my space. A favorite saying I love is "your vibe attracts your tribe" and "show me who you walk with and I'll know who you are". This is so true! Pay attention to if people are dimming your light because you do not need those people in your life. Only surround yourself with the ones who bring you joy and want to see you succeed. This accounts for all relationships.

Thank your body one part at a time for all it does. Looking at yourself in the mirror saying I love myself can be scary and not real. Start slow by saying today I am thankful for my legs because they give me the ability to run with my dog and dance. Maybe a few days later say I love my arms because I can cook and rock climb with them. Baby steps in the directions towards self love. This takes time and is not something that happens over night.

Rewire your brain and change the language in which you speak to yourself. You wouldn't tell your friends they are ugly and fat right? no! So stop talking negative to yourself. Speak to yourself as you would take to others. Don't use hateful words and only speak words of love. It's okay to say I'm feeling a little thick today but I'm still happy the way I am. Instead of going in a spiral of calling yourself horrible names.

Take this journey with me and start setting intentions, spend time with people who lift you up, find your passions, dance, love, follow joy, say no, try new things, learn the language of how to find self love. I promise this will be well worth it. You are all enough just the way you are and deserving of an amazing life! Start believing in yourself because I believe in you.
